The MAO PR dudes have a new book coming out, honoring the life of Stephen Sprouse. Published by Rizzoli, Louis Vuitton stores will be carrying a special edition come January 8th, with regular copies available on January 13th. One half of MAO PR Roger Padilha gave us this exclusive insight into what we can expect from this long-awaited publication.
“The Stephen Sprouse Book is the definitive exploration of the late artist’s work as a designer and an artist. Through exclusive access to the Sprouse family archives as well as from the archives of photographers, art collectors, fashion magazines and personal friends of Stephen, we were able to put together a book which chronicles his entire 25+ year career. Most of the images have never before been seen and include sketches and notes from Stephen which supplement some of the most iconic images from his career from the world’s biggest fashion photographers such as Steven Meisel, Patrick DeMarchelier, and Inez Van Lamsweerde. Even if you are not already a fan of Stephen Sprouse’s work, you can’t deny after seeing all of it collected in this way his extraordinary influence in the worlds of fashion, art, and design which still resonates today. People are going to be amazed when they see this book!” - Roger Padilha, Creative Director, MAO Public Relation

Prada Short Film

If you haven’t seen “That Dress” yet for Prada this season, then here it is. It’s the lace number that’s graced all the magazines in the last few months.
1......
(The Dress in Prada’s short film, Fallen Shadow)

The short film has been out a few months already but I’m posting it here as an excellent example of “Branded Entertainment”. The dress is shown prominently throughout the film yet you’re not really bugged by it because one follows the cryptic tale undistracted. It’s an elegant marriage of product and story line.

The narrative basically involves a woman deep in thought, perhaps having an existential moment as her shadow explores the world around her. Finally the shadow confronts the person in a cathartic embrace. Sniff. Sniff. The art piece has an original haunting score written by Antony & The Johnsons.

The website takes it a step further by presenting the collection within an artful collage-like manner. Altogether, the attention to detail for the Prada consumer is very considered. We look forward to seeing Prada’s New Media endeavors in the future.

(For the first time ever, Beatles music will be available in an interactive format)

Until now, you couldn’t download Beatles music (legally at least) or even rent “Yellow Submarine” on Netflix. From a partnership between Apple Corps, EMI Music, Harrisongs Ltd and Sony/ATV Music Publishing, a new video game has been created to bring the legacy of the Beatles into households across the universe….pun intended.
Rock Band Games
(current Rock Band® games available now)

Published by MTV Games and developed by Harmonix, a new version of Rock Band® will be latest from British Invasion. The concept was creatively conceived by Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono Lennon and Olivia Harrison - so you know if will be authentic - and Giles Martin, the co-producer of The Beatles LOVE project will serve as music producer - so you know it will be legit!

Rock Band Rock Star
(you’ll get to choose which Beatle you want to be: Paul, John, George or Ringo)

No word on the exact release date, but the news alone will inspire wannabe rock stars.

Dance-Off vs Dance-Off

October 27, 2008 on 11:19 pm | In Other-NewMedia, - Jauretsi | Comments Off

Jeesh. Only in the Internet Age are we seeing these types of videos. Ok, so apparently there’s “dance-offs” being tossed around online… so the question is, which one is best?

In honor of High School Musical 3 released this month — this one seems quite fitting.

But I must say, this Hop Hop “dance-off” is off the charts. I mean, I knew Obama had moves, but who would have thought McCain could wile out like this? Then wildcard Palin rolls in and kills ‘em all.

Word.

(Breaking News: Another One Bites the Dust)

CosmoGirl is folding! Statement from Hearst, quoted by Mr. Bercovici:

“Hearst Magazines has made a strategic decision to consolidate its teen publishing activities into Seventeen, the largest-selling monthly teen magazine on newsstands. Effective with the December issue, CosmoGirl will cease as a print magazine, remaining online only at cosmogirl.com. CosmoGirl’s subscriber base will be folded into Seventeen.”

Another loss for Print. Another win for New Media.
