A Night at the MET

Monday, May 5, marked the return of the annual Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The evening, as always, was a super glamorous traffic jam of celebrities, socialites, fashion designers and anyone else lucky enough to get their hands on a ticket.

For this year’s event, we hooked budding actress and fashion trendsetter Byrdie Bell up with Brian Atwood, Creative Director of Bally, to attend the event. I was on hand to help Byrdie prepare for the big night! She munched on Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies and listened to pop music as she sat for hair and makeup pro Misaki.

After the event, I met up with Byrdie, Brian and Nate Berkus, at Socialista for a little post-Met fun. “How lucky am I??” Byrdie cooed to me as she slid into her place on the couch between Brian and Nate. “I had two gorgeous dates this evening!”

MK use

Check out these great cuffs (Made Her Think by Meredith Kahn). I found them over in our PR department. They are samples for next season. The cuff style is classic MHT, but a bit jazzier than in the past, thanks to the addition of the great stingray detail. Pretty cool, right??

In the meantime, check out the current collection at Made Her Think

GO RANGERS!

Last Sunday, in a welcomed departure from all things fashion (and quite possibly the most masculine thing I’ve done in a while) I attended a New York Rangers game. Now, I have never really considered myself a “hockey fan,” but as each period passed (there are three, for all of you NHL neophytes), I slowly transformed from a passive observer into a hooting, hollering Rangers fanatic! It was game three of the Stanley Cup playoff series and unfortunately the Rangers lost to the New Jersey Devils, but they are still winning the series — two games to one. The next game is tomorrow night, so be sure to meditate and send good thoughts out to my new-found athletic heroes. GO RANGERS!

This is just the cutest picture in the world! Stylist and good Starworks buddy Sally Lyndley poses for the Dallas Morning News Style Section with her favorite Lulu Guinness clutch, the aptly named “Lips” clutch. Sally has been blowing up with some really great jobs lately. She styled the Costello Tagliapietra show last season to rave reviews!

Burberry: The Beat

Burberry 2
(The Beat fragrance campaign with Agyness Deyn)

Last night, Burberry, teaming up with Teen Vogue, threw a party in their Soho store to celebrate the launch of their new fragrance, The Beat.

Burberry always stays true to their British roots and this night was no exception with Daisy Lowe and boyfriend Will Cameron Jr. of the band Blondelle (http://www.myspace.com/blondelleband) in attendance, and DJ Tom Travis providing the soundtrack. Teen Vogue favorites Emma Roberts and Taylor Momsen were also on hand to sample the new scent.

Burberry 3
(Dinner invitation)

Following the in-store event, Greg and I went to a very intimate dinner party hosted by Amy Astley (Editor-in-Chief of Teen Vogue) at The Waverly Inn. Mary-Kate Olsen, Julia Roitfeld, Lily Donaldson, and Hugh Dancy were some of the names in attendance to honor Burberry designer Christopher Bailey.

The most random moment was probably when Martha Stewart cruised into the Waverly Inn before the event, and gave her golden seal of approval to the flower centerpieces, which means you know they were on point!
