The teaser trailer to Tim Burton’s 3-D adventure that is the new “Alice in Wonderland” was just released in time for ComicCon in San Diego.

The casting is impeccable! Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as The Red Queen, Anne Hathaway as The White Queen, Michael Sheen as The White Rabbit and Alan Rickman as The Caterpillar. However, I am most looking forward to seeing Mia Wosikowska rock the role of Alice and become a household name.

Disney has already begun marketing for the film (releases March 5th, 2010) with a Facebook campaign where you can join the army of your favorite character.

In honor of the 40th anniversary of man’s first visit to the moon, Louis Vuitton celebrates astronauts who made history in space exploration. The ad was shot by Annie Leibovitz in a California desert and features Buzz Aldrin (one of the first men to step foot on the moon), Jim Lovell (commander of the Apollo 13) and Sally Ride (the first American woman to enter space).Louis Vuitton Astronauts

The ad is part of LV’s “Core Values” campaign, which previously featured Mikhail Gorbachev, Catherine Deneuve, Keith Richards and Sean Connery.

I highly encourage checking out the interactive website (launching July 2nd) which will include interviews from all three astronauts. After spending time with Buzz Aldrin (for another project), I can personally tell you he is an inspiration!

Customer Loyalty

Last month, Starbucks released their financial information. News of the company’s profits were down. Other mass market chains like McDonald’s and Dunkin’ Donuts have stolen their otherwise loyal customer because of lower prices as well as basic availability. (Have you tried Mickey D’s drip coffee – it’s not bad!). In the attempt to get their customers back, Starbucks launched a corporate blog to ask YOU, the consumer, how Starbucks can get your business back.

My Starbucks Idea

At My Starbucks Idea customers log in to post and share their ideas on what would make Starbucks better. There are different categories for products, experience and involvement and so far some ideas are actually being taken into consideration. For example, Starbucks is already working on making the experience better by adding free WiFi based on ranking #2 in the suggestions poll.
Starbucks Card
Another idea in action is creating customer loyalty rewards. Starting in mid-April, when you pay with your registered Starbucks Card you’ll get:
- Complimentary customization (milk modification, syrup, etc.)
- Free refills on brewed coffee.
- Tall beverage of your choice with the purchase of 1 lb. whole bean coffee.

While this idea is really just a 21st Century version of a suggestion box, this is your chance to make a difference by suggesting they be more socially responsible. In the Involvement section you can post ideas to help your community, the environment, and maybe even people in places around the world where Starbucks hasn’t taken over on every block.

Abe Lincoln Makeover

In the last series of thwarting attempts to create counterfeit money, the Federal Reserve has given the $5 bill a makeover. The most noticeable change will be the addition of this season’s hot color (which we pointed out during the Oscars), Purple! — with a slight fade to grey on the bill. Who knew that Mr. Lincoln was so fashion forward!?

New $5 Bill

The first of the new bills will be spent at the Gift Shop in President Lincoln’s Cottage in northwest Washington (on the grounds of the Armed Forces Retirement Home). I wonder if they will buy a top hat…
