Last night Nylon threw a party at the London Hotel to celebrate the launch of their denim June/July issue feat cover girl Drew Barrymore. Drew hosted the party, and spotted in the crowd were Michelle Rodriguez, Kelly Osbourne, Peaches Geldolf, and Jeremy Scott. Express Jeans held a jeans bar, and The Misshapes were there to provide the soundtrack.

While Black Swan, starring Natalie Portman, is opening up this year’s Venice Film Festival, the film I’m most eagerly anticipating that will make its premiere there is Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere. Starring Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning, this has buzz to be another Lost In Translation. Julie Taymor’s The Tempest is closing the fest and this film has an eclectic cast featuring everyone from Helen Mirren to Russell Brand. Also notable, we will see the latest offerings from Ben Affleck (The Town), Vincent Gallo (Promises Written in Water), Kelly Reichardt (Meek’s Cutoff), Julian Schnabel (Miral), and Francois Ozon (Potiche). And let the film festival season begin!!

Photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin celebrated their 25 years in the industry with a show entitled “Pretty Much Everything” that opened last week in Amsterdam’s Foam Museum. Partners both in life and work, they are the creative eyes behind such contemporary imagery as the Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent, Lanvin, Yohji Yamamoto and Chloé ad campaigns, and editorial work that regularly appears in French Vogue, V, The New York Times and W.

Models Anja Rubik and Raquel Zimmermann, Vogue Paris fashion editor Emmanuelle Alt, and designers Viktor & Rolf came out to show their support for the couple.
I was on hand to DJ at the museum launch as well as the afterparty later that turned into a disco inferno!
If you happen to be in Amsterdam by mid-September, be sure to stop by the Foam Museum for this AMAZING retrospective featuring 300 of their photographs from 1985 to 2010.

I had no idea what to expect when the Misshapes were asked to DJ two events during the Cannes Film Festival. Though it took us three planes to get there, we made it just in time to DJ the Chanel party celebrating Karl Lagerfeld’s St Trompez film at the VIP CLUB pop-up. The next night, Leigh and I played at the Art Of Elysium event hosted by Rachel Bilson on a yacht. One of my favorite actors, Ryan Gosling, was in the crowd and even gave a thumbs up when we played the Jackson Five! Olivier Zahm, the Editor in Chief of PURPLE MAGAZINE, snapped these pictures of us.

Ryan was in town to celebrate his film BLUE VALENTINE, which the WEINSTEIN CO will release in December. The film, which co-stars Michelle Williams, was one of the highlights of this year’s Sundance Film Festival where it first premiered. Unfortunately, the trip was too quick to actually screen any films, but I will certainly treasure my whirlwind visit to the French Reveira.
