Just in time for Fashion Week. Meet Kevin Tachman, a lovely photographer who Starworks calls to shoot all our cool events, fashion show coverage, and general portrait work when he’s not on tour with bands like Coldplay or Scissor Sisters. He’s gettin’ so big now, we won’t be able to call him anymore! Anyway, Kevin has finally begun his own website to organize all the fashion and music documenting he does so furiously well. I asked him a few questions regarding the new venture:

BACKSTAGE

Jauretsi: Congrats on the website. Having said that, there are sooo many fashion websites that exist. Tell me about the unique perspective about yours?

Kevin Tachman: Well, I guess the unique perspective is that it’s more of a photography site that features images often taken in a fashion or backstage environment, rather than it being a site that showcases fashion from the perspective that it is usually seen.

Of course fashion is a big part, but to me its about using a documentary approach to get cinematic results. The site is a place to showcase those unseen moments and let the images tell the story in a simple, dramatic way

What types of events will we be expecting to see posted on your site?

Right now my focus is on fashion and music but I love documenting all different types of subject matter so hopefully this site will open some doors to some editorial work and will allow me to shoot some interesting subjects beyond the scope of just music and fashion.

What are the top 5 shows you are excited to attend this upcoming
fashion week?

I really loved shooting Robert Geller and Costello Tagliapietra last season, so those should be great, and the rest I’m just happy to be there with camera doing my thing.
