If you’ve been following our blog, you’ll notice that twice a year Starworks hosts a column in the elegant publication called The Last Magazine where we call out our favorite new actor or actress. The new issue is out on newsstands now. Our pick? Carey Mulligan (curated by Greg Krelenstein) and written by moi.

During our interview, Carey mentioned this song “Gathering Storm” by Godspeed You Black Emperor which she used for preparation during her Chekhov play, The Seagull, in New York. Since then, I’ve heard the song 50 million times and it always seems to match my emotional moodscapes… just one of the perks of interviewing smart actresses. Listen below:
