A Photo Editor in the Making…

(Angela’s bedroom when she was 13 years old)

To all those young readers in a small town who are itching to get into the fashion business in New York, I’m posting some old school dirt from friend Angela Boatwright to prove that being an O.C.D. kid is not a bad thing. Her bedroom back home in Ohio was an homage to Guns&Roses. Check out how meticulous her posters were positioned!

Today, Angela is a successful photographer based out of New York, whose work has been published in W, Jane, Spin, Vibe, Mass Appeal, Anthem, Tokion, Slap, Transworld skateboarding. Her range of clients also include Urban Outfitters as well as Sony and MTV. She just showed her work at a Nike group exhibit in Brooklyn last month curated by Aaron Rose.

On top of being featured in galleries and print, Angela is also a photo-editor for the street magazine, Mass Appeal. In 2004, she launched Killer of Giants, which specializes in managing select photographers and artists and out-sourcing creative talent. She also handles press/publicity and produces art shows. Her genre is more street-inspired leaning on skate culture. She is also a highly educated heavy metal enthusiast, who can out-trivia any boy I know.
