Chloe Sevigny throws one rocking party…
1

It’s time to present Chloe’s new clothing line in collaboration with Opening Ceremony (one of our favorite stores located across the street from Starworks). Greg said he “was most excited” about this party, and that he could see many of his female friends “gushing for this line”. The stuff is pretty much all about Chloe’s signature style — Punk. Pretty. Ballsy.

The BIG doozie of the night (and the reason I dropped all my plans for this one) was the mention of a Slits reunion. They are pretty much a classic punk rock band with some dub flavor and old-school cred having toured with the Clash on 1977’s White Riot tour. Their debut album (with them in mud & loincloths) is considered a classic piece of album art (1979)…..

Anyway, it was a packed night at the huge Webster Hall ballroom. The entire space was shakin it hard. DJ sets by Paul Sevigny, Benjamin Cho, Leo Fitzpatrick, Brian Degraw and Nate Lowman. Crazy, huh?

Definitely a “ground zero” for cool folks on this competitive fashion night. A few of us defected over to the refugee bar 1 block away called Black&White to switch channels. Inside was another explosive DJ set with uplifting spirits (cue in “Young Turks” by Rod Stewart). I parked at the bar where I saw another familiar face serving me my whiskey… Mr.Ransone himself. Not to be confused with his brother PJ who’s one of Larry Clark’s muse’s in Ken Park but also featured in Spike Lee’s Inside Man. Sitting near the bar, I met a nice crew of guys who are in a band called The Dodo’s.

What I’m trying to say is, it was a late night…All love. Full of good stories… Onto another crazy day tomorrow. Get yer Chloe outfit before they run out!
