Erin Fetherston is living in NYC now! She relocated her studio from Paris, and is showing her collection during Fashion Week coming up. Here’s a snapshot I took of us playing hoops at Coney Island this summer. The guys at Refinery29 just released a video short today where she shows us her studio, and talks inspiration. Check it out:

Congrats Kate!
Kate is one of those girls you’re always happy to bump into at one of those Fashionista parties. She knows how to laugh at the right things, but she also knows when to take things seriously. Mostly, she’s the chick looking like she’s having the most fun in the room. She’s her own traveling party, and others just hitch on. The Observer just released this huge piece on her yesterday. I called to check up on her:
Starworks: How does it feel to be called a “Super Stylist” by the The New York Observer?
KS: Pretty amazing! I was thinking the story would be much smaller. I went to get it at the newsstand and was like, Wow! It was like reading about someone else and knowing exactly how the story goes.
Any comments about how you were described in this piece you’d like to share with us?
I have to say, the journalist, Meredith Bryan, has restored my faith in (some) journalism. She really did her homework and portrayed me pretty accurately and honestly. I like that … especially in this town of gossip readers … it was snark-free.
What did your mother say when she read this?
She said, “You use the word ‘like’ a lot.” Hahaha. She also said that she was “thrilled and very proud.” It’s always nice to make mom and dad proud. Mom is happy she sent me to a Friends Quaker school since she thinks my “down to earth values” are what keep me afloat in the superficial fashion industry.
